It depends on your course of treatment but typically while in active treatment you will come into our office every 4- 8 weeks.

The common Orthodontic treatments are Metal Braces, Ceramic Braces, Lingual Braces and Clear Aligners. Metal Braces are your traditional brace option that start from $6180. Ceramic Braces are a tooth colored brace that are far less noticeable then your traditional metal brace and start from $6580. Lingual Braces are hidden behind the teeth and are a great treatment option for those who are looking for a more cosmetic treatment that do not qualify for clear aligners, this option starts from $6880. Clear Aligners are a nearly invisible treatment option, which can be removed while you are eating and brushing this treatment option can range from $2980-$6580 this option will very depending on the severity of your treatment.

Yes you can be seen same day for orthodontic emergency. It is best to call our office and describe what is going on and we will try and find a time that will work for you and your schedule or we will provide you with instructions on how to manage your emergency until we can get you on the schedule.

You may need braces if your teeth if you have the following issues:

• Crooked, Crowding or overlapping teeth
• Noticeable spacing between teeth
• Teeth that stick out
• Underbite when your lower teeth extends past your upper teeth
• Openbite when your top and bottom teeth do not touch when your mouth is closed.

Braces may be needed if you have missing, worn, chipped and broken teeth to allow your dentist to better fix them.

You can maintain good oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment by brushing your teeth 2-3 times a day, flossing at least one time day, avoiding sugary foods and continue your 6 month dental check ups and cleanings.

There are many different types of orthodontic appliances our office has available. Speed Metal Braces which is our “traditional” brace. The Speed Metal brace is smaller and less noticeable then most traditional metal braces, they also provide more comfort and because of their smaller size, they make it easier to keep clean. We also have a Damon Clear Braces, the Damon Clear appliance provides a more discreet look to the traditional brace option with its translucent ceramic brackets blending with your natural tooth color. Another appliance our office has available is our Lingual Brace appliance called Brava. The Brava appliance is completely customized to fit your smile needs. This appliance is placed behind the teeth offering a discreet way to help achieve your superstar smile. Our last orthodontic appliance is our clear aligner appliance this appliance is a removable appliance that provides a discreet, comfortable and effective way to achieve the smile of your dreams.

If something breaks on your braces or aligners call our office and we will determine if you need to be seen right away or if you can wait until your next appointment. We will also provide you with tips and tricks to make you comfortable until you can be seen.

Yes there are some risks with orthodontic treatment but most are minor and can be prevented with proper care such as maintaining good oral hygiene, following all instructions from Dr. Bader and attending your regular check up and cleanings with your general dentist.

You can overcome anxiety about orthodontic treatment by learning what to expect, ask questions during your consultation, bring up any concerns you may have about your treatment plan with Dr. Bader and your orthodontic team. Having a clear idea of your treatment plan will help ease your stress.

Yes, Fluoride is save to use with braces, in fact it is highly recommended while in orthodontic treatment. Brackets and wires often trap food and can cause plaque buildup which can cause cavities. Fluoride can help protect your teeth while you are in treatment.

Dentists and Orthodontist both help patients improve and maintain a healthy smiles but each specialize in different areas. Dentists provide general oral healthcare and focus on keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Orthodontists have an additional 2-3 years of training at the graduate school level & specialize in aligning your teeth and jaws. Orthodontists are dental specialists that focus on improving your bite, and your overall smile appearance.

It is normal to feel some soreness and minor discomfort for the first couple of days after getting your braces or aligners or after adjustment appointments. The discomfort is minor and can be managed with eating soft foods for the first couple of days and taking over the counter pain relievers.

A. At your first orthodontic visit we will take records that include photos and digital x-rays. Once the records are taken Dr. Bader will do dental exam on your teeth. This exam and the records will help Dr. Bader form a treatment plan that will help you achieve that superstar smile. Once and if treatment is recommended Dr. Bader and our treatment coordinator will provide you with your best treatment options and an estimate.

Absolutely orthodontic treatment is safe for children as long as it is provided by a trained orthodontist and the patient is monitored regularly. It is actually the best time to be treated because guiding the growth of the jaws during this period can make treatment easier and avoid later complexities of treating you as a non-growing adult.

Most of our patients are seen every 4-8 weeks depending on their treatment plan. Dr. Bader will recommend the ideal schedule to keep your treatment on track and help you achieve your ideal smile.

For the best results, aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day and removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing.

Patients with braces should avoid hard, sticky, and chewy foods such as popcorn, ice, hard candies, caramel, taffy, and chewing gum. These foods can damage brackets and wires and may delay treatment.

Most patients adjust quickly to braces. Some temporary speech changes may occur with clear aligners or lingual braces, but most patients adapt within a few days to a few weeks.

Yes. We recommend wearing a protective orthodontic mouthguard during any contact sport to protect your teeth, braces, and soft tissues.

After active treatment is completed, retainers are used to maintain your new smile and prevent teeth from shifting. Wearing your retainers as directed is one of the most important parts of orthodontic treatment.
